WINDOW TREATMENT GUIDE

Shangri-La sheer shadesSoft vanes suspended in filtered light.

Shangri-La shades place soft horizontal vanes between sheer fabric layers. Tilting the vanes changes privacy and view while the full shade can raise into a compact headrail.

SEE THE DIFFERENCE

Picture the treatment in a real room.

Digital images help you compare shape and scale. Final color, weave and opacity should be confirmed with the physical sample at your window.

A SIMPLE DECISION PATH

Make three decisions in the right order.

You can choose the style and fabric you love. Our job is to make sure the size, hardware and installation support that choice.

01

Compare the view through the sheer

The open position should preserve the view you care about while taking the edge off direct light.

02

Choose vane color and scale

Vane width, texture and color change both the softness and visual presence of the shade.

03

Confirm privacy from outside

Interior lights change what can be seen through sheer layers. We review the closed position rather than assuming privacy.

A STRONG FIT WHEN

This treatment matches the way you want to live.

  • You like a soft layered appearance
  • The room benefits from adjustable view control
  • You want one treatment to raise and tilt
  • A polished living-space finish matters

THINK TWICE WHEN

Another treatment may solve the room more cleanly.

  • True blackout is the primary requirement
  • The fabric will face rough daily contact
  • The window is extremely shallow
  • You want the simplest possible cleaning routine

COMMON QUESTIONS

Useful answers before you choose.

Is Shangri-La the same as a zebra shade?

No. Both are layered treatments, but Shangri-La uses suspended soft vanes between sheer facings while zebra shades use alternating bands on a continuous fabric loop.

Does closing the vanes create blackout?

No. Closing improves privacy and reduces light, but the sheer construction is not a blackout system.

Can Shangri-La shades be motorized?

Yes, compatible sizes can be motorized for lift and vane positioning. We confirm motor capacity, power and controls for the finished shade.
